Some Lesser Known Facts About Manish Tripathi

  • From an early age, Manish’s fascination with Bollywood and the actors’ outfits in films inspired him to study fashion design. Designing costumes for Bollywood films was his dream job.
  • Manish has served as both the official designer for the IPL Governing Council and the design partner of the BCCI. He has collaborated with a wide range of celebrities, including politicians and Bollywood actors like Shah Rukh Khan and Randeep Hooda.
  •  He has also worked as an advisor in the Ministry of Textiles in the Indian government.
  • He has also designed outfits for athletes, including Virender Sehwag.
  • He founded Muktir Fashion India Private Limited, a fashion business, in 2013. Along with that, he owns a business called DesignMee. AntarDesi and Naveli are two of Manish’s fashion labels.
  • In 2017, Manish, along with his team from DesignMee, designed the costumes for the Bollywood film Indu Sarkar.
  • Manish Tripathi opened his label stores “AntarDESI” and “Naveli” in Chattarpur, New Delhi, on 12 May, 2018. Under his brand, DesignMee, he created apparel for the Indian cricket team in 2018.

  • Manish Tripathi founded the Namastay Away fashion brand, which sold reusable Khadi masks, during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Through the Namastay Away campaign, he provided masks to the underprivileged and needy who were unable to purchase them.
  • He later began selling these masks to everyone by teaming up with e-commerce platforms like MensXP and Amazon.
  • After the demand for his masks increased, he started giving employment to women and migrant workers. He named this “Shehar Se Gaon Tak Campaign,” which began in Bulandshr in Uttar Pradesh and then extended to many other places.
  • Through a Twitter post, Smriti Irani expressed her gratitude for his efforts. Through his Shehar Se Gaon Tak Campaign, he had provided over 50,000 new jobs to rural women and artisans by June 2020.
  • In December 2020, Manish Tripathi came up with an idea to set a World Record by designing the world’s largest mask, using 100 square meters of cloth sourced from various Indian states.
  • He created the Indian Army’s uniforms in January 2022.
  • He designed the ceremonial attire for the Indian contingent competing in the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou in September of 2023.
  • Manish Tripathi created the attire for the National Sports & Adventure Awards in January 2024.

      It was totally mystical, magical, and beyond divinity. And, I don’t know, maybe I would say that it’s sheerly pure. I don’t have words to express my feelings because I never imagined that, you know, for every designer, we dream to dress up celebrities. But getting a chance to design for somebody who’s, I would say, the universal celebrity was a big, big thing. I can’t express it in words, As I’ve been working and connected to this domain, I knew Bhagwan hai, he is Pitambar and he should wear Yellow on the day of Utsav. That was in my mind. But the trick was to make the pattern for that particular idol and by God’s grace, it happened.”
