  • Mamta Kulkarni grew up in Mumbai.
  • Her mother asked her to audition for a modelling project. She then appeared in various print commercials and other modelling projects.
  • After her topless shoot for a magazine, she received an offer of an adult film from a Nepali producer.
  • Her mother wanted her to become an actress. Mamta never wanted to make her career as an actor.
  • She once called the Indian actresses Rekha and Sridevi cosmetic beauties.
  • She has acted in various Hindi films like ‘Aashiq Awara’ (1993), ‘Karan Arjun’ (1995), ‘Sabse Bada Khiladi’ (1995), ‘China Gate’ (1998), and ‘Chhupa Rustam: A Musical Thriller’ (2001).

  • On 31 January 2025, Rishi Ajay Das, the akhara’s founder, expelled Mamta Kulkarni and activist Laxmi Narayan Tripathi. As per him, he accused Tripathi of committing treason against Sanatana Dharma by appointing Mamta who still had connections with the “glamourous world of Bollywood.” Ajay, in an interview, said,

    Without following any religious or akhada tradition, instead of making her renunciate, they directly conferred the title and patta of Mahamandaleshwar on her.”
