• Swashbuckler drew massive backlash in June 2025 after his trip to Turkey, where he posted videos that many found offensive and disrespectful.

• While in Turkey, Malik posted several videos on Instagram and YouTube, in which he made sexually offensive and degrading remarks about a Turkish woman with him.

  

• In the videos, Malik mostly spoke in Hindi to keep the woman with him and the locals from understanding. However, Turkish social media users understood what he said and reported the videos.

• In one of the videos, he entered a shop and angrily questioned the staff about why the Indian flag was missing from a display of various country flags. He then went on to verbally abuse the shopkeeper.

• In another video, he objectified a Turkish woman by calling her “maal” or “item.” The remark added to the growing backlash against him.

• Amid growing backlash, a local media outlet named Turkiye Today reported that Malik had been taken into custody by Turkish authorities in May 2025, although an official police statement was still awaited.

• In response to the controversy, Malik deleted the videos from his social media accounts.
