• Madhan Bob was born as the eighth child in his family, he engaged in self-learning, mastering music, yoga, boxing, and self-hypnotism from a young age.

• He overcame childhood stammering using self-hypnotism and kept himself occupied by playing musical instruments and performing arts.

• Before acting, he worked as a medical representative and later as a sales officer before entering the music industry.

• Under musicians S Ramanathan, Harihara Sharma, and ‘Vikku’ Vinayakaram, he learned Western classical and Carnatic music.

• In 1975, he became the first person to play guitar on Doordarshan Chennai, also composing for ads, dramas, and radio shows.

• He mentored A. R. Rahman, as confirmed by Rahman during the 2000 Thenali music launch event.

• His acting career featured many supporting roles, and frequent appearances in successful films earned him the nickname “sentiment artist.”

• He started his career in films in 1992 with the Tamil movie Vaaname Ellai, directed by K. Balachander. He acted in more than 600 films across various languages, mainly in Tamil cinema.

• His work included films like Thevar Magan, Pattukottai Periyappa, Nammavar, Sathi Leelavathi, Thenali, Sundara Travels, and Poove Unakkaga.
