In 2009, Kelsey Bateman came into the limelight when she participated as a contestant on the television reality show Rock of Love Bus with Bret Michaels.

At that time, Kelsey Bateman was 21 years old and was one of the youngest on the show.
When she reached the final nine contestants, she decided to leave halfway through the season.
After that, Taya Parker was chosen as Bret Michaels’ girlfriend, but their relationship did not last.
Kelsey Bateman left the show in the seventh episode because Bret Michaels was unsure if she could handle his lifestyle as a musician.
In that episode, she admitted that she had too much to drink one night out with Ashley Klarich and Farrah Sinclair, who were also contestants.

Bret Michaels was worried about her future on the show. He liked Kelsey Bateman but thought touring might be too difficult for her, as she struggled to keep up with the fast pace of the show.
Kelsey Bateman often drank a lot at night, which made Bret think that she was not right for his lifestyle, and he said goodbye to her in a kind way.
Later, she shared her thoughts about her experience on the show in her confessional clip. She said,
Sometimes I get drunk and lie on speed bumps, it’s just you know. Apparently, Brett just can’t handle a girl who likes to get drunk and lie on speed bumps. I mean, maybe he’s not used to it. I’m going to go home and I’m going to be single I’m not going to think about guys for a while, but the next guy I find definitely won’t be 44 and probably not a rock star.”
