• At the age of 7, he made his acting debut by chance. The original actor fell sick for the movie Kochu Kochu Santhoshangal and he was given the part at the last minute.

• After that, he became an instant sensation and fan favourite and won the Best Child Artist award for the same in the subsequent year.

• On set for every perfect take Kalidas used to be rewarded with ice cream which led to him being slightly chubby.

  

• In his second film, the actor played the role of his own father’s son. The story revolves around sibling rivalry, where the older brother is envious of his younger sibling and accidentally kills him. After the movie was released, his sister avoided him for a year. She was frightened because he was an aggressive character in the film.

  

• Being a child actor was hard on his studies so he had to take a break from acting and complete his education.

• After receiving his bachelor’s he made a comeback in the film industry with his Tamil debut with Meen Kuzhambum Mann Paanaiyum.

• In the beginning, he was set to make his debut as a lead actor in a Tamil film called Oru Pakka Kathai. However, the movie was not released for six years as the producers felt it was not commercially viable at the time. When it finally premiered in 2020, it turned out to be a massive success at the box office.

• Kalidas Jayaram has worked with Bollywood actress Disha Patani. The duo has shared the screen for a television commercial.

  

• Despite initially gaining fame, the following movies that he starred in did not perform well at the box office. As a result, he opted to take a one-year hiatus from acting to pursue a theatre course at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in Los Angeles.
