  • In the 2020 Delhi Legislative Assembly elections, Gahlot was re-elected from the Najafgarh constituency in south-west Delhi. He got 81,507 votes and defeated the Bharatiya Janata Party’s candidate Ajeet Singh Kharkhari with a margin of 6,231 votes.

He also expressed his discontent regarding Arvind’s expenditure of crores on his residence, known as the Sheesh Mahal, and ultimately decided to leave the party to join the BJP.
