• Julie Chen Moonves belongs to a family of Chinese immigrants in Queens, New York, USA. Her parents moved to the United States of America after the Chinese Civil War.

• According to Julie, since a young age, she wanted to attend Wellesley College in Wellesley, Massachusetts; however, after graduating from St. Francis Prep High School, she decided to study at USC.

• In June 1990, he began working as an intern at an American early-morning news broadcast, CBS Morning News. While interning there, she answered phones and copied faxes for distribution.

• In September 1991, she began working as a news assistant for ABC News in Los Angeles, and later, became a desk assistant there. The following year, she was promoted to the rank of producer and worked as a producer there for three years.

• In 1995, Chen moved to Dayton, Ohio, and began working as a local news reporter for the American television station WDTN-TV. She worked there till 1997.

• In 2002, she began hosting The Early Show on CBS. She co-hosted the talk shows alongside various famous American reporters including Bryant Gumbel, Jane Clayson, and Hannah Storm. She hosted the show until 2010 and later became a special contributing anchor of the program until its cancellation in 2012.

  

• Julie became the moderator and co-host of the CBS Daytime talk show, The Talk, in October 2010.

• During season 1 of the show, Julie claimed that her co-hosts of the show Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Peete wanted Chen to leave the show so they complained about her to CBS; however, soon after she made these claims, her co-hosts left the show.

  

• During one of the episodes of Season 4 of The Talk, she revealed that she had undergone plastic surgery for her eyes during the initial days of her career as a television personality as she was pressured by her seniors and news directors to look less Asian.

• In 2017, during an episode of the American talk show The Talk, Chen revealed that her maternal grandfather was a polygamist who had nine wives and a total of eleven children. She also revealed that her family was very poor and grew wealthy through a chain of grocery stores.

  

• In 2018, she left The Talk and claimed that she was quitting the show to be with her husband who was facing various allegations of sexual assault against him at the time. She made this announcement through a prerecorded tape.

• After the incident, she began using her married name to sign off on the talk show.

• In 2023, she published an audiobook titled “But First, God: An Audio Memoir of Spiritual Discovery”. In the audiobook, she claimed she suffered after her husband was removed from the position of the CEO of CBS Corp due to the sexual allegations against him. She also revealed that the day before Season 9 of The Talk premiered, she was told that many of her co-hosts did not want her to be part of the team anymore. She said,
  

  Two of my co-hosts called the powers at CBS and said, ‘If Julie shows up to work tomorrow, we’re not coming in.’ So, I was basically told, ‘Please don’t come back to work anymore.’”
