Some Lesser Known Facts About Jo Yu-ri

• Jo Yu-ri is a South Korean singer and actress, who former member of the South Korean–Japanese girl group Iz*One. In 2023, it was revealed that she would be part of the second season of the popular Netflix South Korean survival drama series ‘Squid Game.’

• Her childhood dream was to become a piano teacher.

  

• In July 2017, she appeared as a contestant in the reality TV show ‘Idol School;’ however, she was eliminated in episode 10 and secured the 15th position in the show’s rankings, which resulted in her not being able to debut with the winning group, Fromis_9.

• On 11 May 2018, Yuri participated in Mnet’s reality show ‘Produce 48’ and achieved the 3rd position. As one of the twelve successful participants, she became a member of the newly formed girl group Iz*One.

• On 29 October 2018, she made her debut as a singer with eleven other members.

  

• In 2020, the group launched their sole Korean studio album named ‘Bloom*Iz.’ She worked as the composer and lyricist for the song ‘Someday’ included in the album ‘Bloom*Iz.’

• Iz*One released their first and only Japanese studio album titled ‘Twelve’ in 2020.

  

• The group, Iz*One, disbanded on 29 April 2021, after their contract expired.

• In June 2021, she contributed her vocals to the song ‘Story of Us’ featured in the South Korean TV series ‘Monthly Magazine Home.’ She has lent her voice to several songs for different South Korean TV shows, such as ‘Do You Like Brahms?’ (2020), ‘Monthly Magazine Home’ (2021), ‘The Law Cafe’ (2022), and ‘The Fabulous’ (2022).

• On 2 June 2022, she launched her first EP named ‘Op.22 Y-Waltz: in Major,’ featuring the song ‘Love Shhh!’ as the main track. She also worked as the composer and lyricist for the song ‘Opening’ from her album.

  

• In October 2022, she unveiled her second single album titled ‘Op.22 Y-Waltz: in Minor.’

• In 2022, she appeared in season 2 of the South Korean web series ‘Work Later, Drink Now’ in which she played a special role as Sieun.
