Some Lesser Known Facts About Jiiva

• Jiiva is an Indian actor and film producer who mostly works in the Tamil film industry.

• His father owns the production company ‘Super Good Films’ and has launched many popular directors and actors through his company.

• He grew up in a well-to-do family in Chennai.

  

• He had a deep interest in music since childhood. As a child, Jiiva loved listening to rock and heavy metal music.

• When Jiiva was just seven years old, he was cast in the Tamil film ‘Cheran Pandiyan’ as a child actor.

• In 2003, he starred in the Tamil film ‘Aasai Aasaiyai’ (produced under his father’s banner Super Good Films) in which he played the role of Vinod.

• In the same year, he bagged the Tamil film ‘Thithikudhe.’

  

• He rose to prominence by playing the role of Ramakrishnan ‘Ram’ in the Tamil film ‘Raam’ (2005).

• In an interview, Jiiva revealed that he was not so fluent in the Hindi language. He said,
  

  I speak accented Hindi. I’m more happy speaking Tamil. I’ve only done a Malayalam film (Keerthi Chakra in 2006) because my character spoke Tamil. Even 83, I accepted because I had the liberty of speaking Tamil.”

• Whenever free, Jiiva likes listening to music, watching films, and playing cricket.

• He is a trained Chinese martial artist (specialising in Kung Fu).

• In an interview, Jiiva shared that he loved the work of Aamir Khan Productions. He further said that he wanted to work (as a producer) on films like Bhoot (2003), Apocalypto (2006), Paranormal activity (2007), Subramaniapuram (2008), Pasanga (2009), and Peepli Live (2010).

• He is good friends with the Tamil actors Arya, Jayam Ravi, Vikranth, Poonam, and Shriya.

• He is fond of cars and wristwatches.

• During an interview, Jiiva was asked if he was gadget-savvy. He replied,
  

  I am more of an Apple freak. I have everything that Apple has brought out. I cannot imagine my life without my iPod, iPhone and now, iPad. My iMac has all my favourite movies loaded so that I can watch them wherever I am. I suppose that would make me a hardcore iFan. Steve Jobs is my idol.”
