James was raised by a single mother after his father was killed by a drunk driver few months before James was born.

He used to with his mother until the early part of 2017 when he moved to his own apartment in Maumee, Ohio.

His mother is a ‘Paraplegic’ (paralysis of both lower limbs due to spinal disease or injury).

Since his teenage days, he was very big into Nazism and had a fondness for Adolf Hitler.

His mother had called 911 twice in the past when he beat her and threatened her with a knife.

On 12 August 2017, James drove his silver Dodge Challenger into people protesting a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, in which a 32-year-old woman, Heather Heyer, died and at least 19 other protesters got injured.

He was booked and charged with one count of second-degree murder, three counts of malicious wounding, failure to stop for an accident involving a death, and hit-and-run.
