• Before working at CNN, she worked at WHO-TV in Des Moines, WEHT-TV in Evansville, and KCAU-TV in Sioux City as a meteorologist.

• Thereafter, she worked at CNN as a meteorologist for more than a decade. She covered extreme weather news such as hurricanes and tornado outbreaks.

  

• In 2011, she spent a week covering news on the EF5 tornado in Missouri.

• Later, she worked at the ABC affiliate in Washington, D.C. as a morning meteorologist.

• In 2016, she joined The Weather Channel as a freelance meteorologist and worked until 2019.

• In April 2019, she started working as an on-camera meteorologist at The Weather Channel.

• Her duties at the Weather Channel are to host the news show STORM CENTER on weekdays and also report news from the field.

  

• She has earned the Seal of Approval from the National Weather Association.

• Later, she served as a councillor and recertification chair at the National Weather Association. As of 2024, she mentors students at the association.

• She is an avid lover of dogs and owns a Miniature Schnauzer named Astro.
