  • Himanshu started playing cricket at 17 in Sikar, but due to a lack of facilities, he moved to Jaipur, where he began practising at the Jaipuria Cricket Academy.

  • During his early days, Himanshu wanted to become a batter, but he decided to switch to spin bowling because he could not afford the cricket equipment.

  • Himanshu specializes in turning the ball both ways which impressed the selectors from RCB. He was tested by the team head coach Sanjay Bangar and by the spin bowling coach Sridharan Sriram who were left impressed by his trials.
  • On 21 May, Himanshu made his IPL debut for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Gujarat Titans in the 2023 Indian Premier League at MA Chinnaswamy Stadium.
  • In the 2023 IPL, he was among the list of impact substitution players alongside Finn Allen, Suyash Prabhudessai, Sonu Yadav, and Akash Deep when RCB announced the final playing XI. He was brought in the 2nd innings of the match as an impact player where he replaced Karn Sharma.
