• Hemant Birje is a veteran Indian actor and a politician too.

• His good looks and attractive physique helped him in winning Mr India contest in 1982.

• Before starting his career as an actor, he used to work as a security guard officer.

• The director of the Bollywood film, ‘Adventures of Tarzan’ (1985), B Subhash wanted to cast some A-list actor in this film, but when he saw Hemant in security guard officer’s uniform, he instantly decided to cast Hemant as the Tarzan. ^[5]Free Press Journal

• He has acted in many Hindi films, like ‘Tahkhana’ (1986), ‘Veerana’ (1988), ‘Commando’ (1988), ‘Kabrastan’ (1988), ‘Maar Dhaad’ (1988), ‘Sindoor Aur Bandook’ (1989), ‘Chandaal’ (1998), ‘Kaun Kare Kurbanie’ (1991), and ‘Garv: Pride and Honour’ (2005).

• It is said that he was probably the first Indian male actor who did a few intimate scenes on screen in the era of the ’80s.
