• Heidi Gardner grew up in Kansas.

  

• In childhood, she did a part-time job at Tivoli Theater in Kansas. She used to sell tickets and make popcorn there.

• In her school days, she used to perform in talent shows. She was a flutist in her school music band. However, she was not inclined towards acting.

• During high school, she was voted “Most likely to be a cast member of Saturday Night Live” by her classmates.

• She used to skip her classes in school and used to visit a hairdresser to learn haircutting skills.

• When she was 21 years old, she dropped out of college. She then moved from Kansas City to Los Angeles and started working at a hair salon and worked there for around nine years.

• One day, she accompanied her friend to watch the performance of a theatre play at The Groundlings Theater. After watching the performance there, she developed an interest in acting. However, as she did not have any professional training in acting, she decided to join community acting workshops.

• After a few months, she auditioned for The Groundlings Theater Basic class.

• She joined the theatre group Sunday Company in 2014. A year later, she was promoted to the Main Company. She then quit her job at the salon to focus on her acting career.
