Harjeet Singh Laddi is associated with Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), a Khalistani terror group, which is banned in India under the UAPA law.
He was added to the NIA’s most-wanted list after being accused of planning violent attacks in Punjab, including the killing of VHP leader Vikas Prabhakar in April 2024 and targeted attacks on right-wing leaders.
That same year, the NIA announced a Rs. 10 lakh reward for the capture of Harjeet Singh Laddi and another person involved in the VHP leader’s murder.

On 10 July 2025, he came into the news after shots were fired outside Indian comedian Kapil Sharma‘s newly opened café in Surrey, Canada.

Reportedly, the attackers fired multiple bullets at the café building a few days after its opening. A viral video showed a man sitting in a car, firing bullets from the window.

According to the police, no one was hurt in the shooting.
These jokes were seen as insulting to Sikh religious values and hurt the sentiments of the Nihang community.
This is a joke on Sikh traditions and the respect of Nihang Singhs. No religion should be mocked in comedy.”
The group claimed that they had tried to contact Kapil Sharma’s manager, but received no reply. They, however, later demanded a public apology from Kapil Sharma.
