Some Lesser Known Facts About Gyan Prakash

• Gyan Prakash was born into a middle-class family.

• While growing up, he wanted to join BSF.

• During his college days, he performed in various stage plays.

• He has also worked as a mountaineering instructor at Nainital Mountaineering Club.

• He then joined Yug Manch Theatre Group in Nainital and performed in various Hindi theatre plays. There, a few students of NSD who were from Uttarakhand used to perform with him in the Yug Manch Theatre Group.

  

• In 1991, he applied to the National School of Drama. After passing out from NSD, he performed at the repertory company of NSD.

  

• He has played small roles in various Hindi films like ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’ (2001), ‘Matrubhoomi: A Nation Without Women’ (2003), ‘1971’ (2007), ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai’ (2010).

  

• Gyan has also acted in various Hindi TV serials such as ‘Tehreer … Munshi Premchand Ki’ (2004), ‘Aladdin – Naam Toh Suna Hoga’ (2008), ‘Tere Mere Sapne’ (2009), and ‘Ruk Jana Nahin’ (2011).

  

• Apart from films and TV serials, he has appeared in a few Hindi web series like ‘Breathe’ (2018), ‘Raktanchal’ (2020), ‘Chamurui Ompa… Ek Prem Katha’ (2021), ‘Shehar Lakhot’ (2023), and ‘Mirzapur Season 3’ (2024).

  

• In 2018, he played the role of Professor Narayan Gandhi in the Hindi short film ‘Gandhi vs. Justice In-Justice We Believe.’

• Gyan is a religious person and has a deep faith in god.
