  • Though Gurkeerat hails from Muktsar, Punjab; his family moved to Mohali, Punjab in 1995.
  • He started playing cricket when he was just 10 years old.
  • In 2011, he got selected in the ‘Punjab’ cricket team and played his first T20 match against ‘Haryana’ in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy at Rohtak, Haryana.
  • In 2014, he got an opportunity to play for ‘India A’ and in one of the matches against ‘Bangladesh A’, he scored 65 runs and also picked 5 wickets by giving just 29 runs.
  • In the ‘2015-16 Ranji Trophy’ tournament, he scored double-century for ‘Punjab’ against ‘Railways.’ He also picked 9 wickets for ‘Punjab’ against ‘Andhra.’
  • ‘Kings XI Punjab’ bought him several times in 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, and 2017 for the ‘Indian Premier League’ (IPL) auction.
