• Girish Kumar spent his childhood in Mumbai.

  

• He did his schooling in a boarding school in Berkshire, England.

  

• In childhood, he used to love watching films. While he was watching the Hindi film ‘Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya’ (1998) starring the Indian actor Salman Khan, he decided to make his career as an actor.

• In his teens, he used to be overweight. Before making his film debut, his father hired a South African fitness trainer for him who helped Girish to get in shape.

• For his debut Hindi film ‘Ramaiya Vastavaiya’ (2013), he took eight months of training in dance on the advice of the Indian choreographer Prabhu Deva.
  

• In 2016, while he was shooting for the Hindi film Loveshhuda, due to screaming and drinking chilled alcohol, he lost his voice temporarily.

  

• In November 2016, he became the chief operating officer at Tips Industries Limited.

• He acted in the Hindi short film ‘Collateral Damage’ in 2018.

• He was supposed to appear in the sequel of the Hindi film ‘Soldier 2’ in the lead role. However, the film was shelved.
