• She completed her education in India, Malaysia, and Canada.

• She started using the screen name Geetu Mohandas in her fourth film Onnu Muthal Poojyam Vare in 1986.

• In this film, she acted alongside veteran Malayalam actor Mohanlal when she was only five years old.

• Geetu Mohandas played the role of a fatherless child who finds a father figure through an anonymous phone caller. She won the hearts of Malayalam audiences.

  

• In 1988, she acted in the film En Bommukutty Ammavukku, a Tamil remake of the Malayalam film Ente Mamattikkuttiyammakku, originally performed by Baby Shalini.

• After that, she migrated to Canada with her family.

  

• In 2000, her first film as an adult was Life is Beautiful in which Mohanlal played the lead role.

  

• Geetu Mohandas then went on to appear in many Malayalam films such as Kannaki (2001), Valkannadi (2002), Nala Damayanthi (2003), Rappakal (2005), Bharathan Effect (2007), and Nammal Thammil (2009).

• In 2004, she came into the limelight with the Malayalam film Akale, which was directed by Shyamaprasad and produced by Tom George Kolath.

• In 2013, Geetu Mohandas made her debut as a feature film director with the Hindia film Liar’s Dice, starring Geetanjali Thapa and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

• In 2014, it was selected for the World Dramatic Competition at the Sundance Film Festival.

• Liar’s Dice won six major international awards and two National Awards in India.

• It was India’s official entry for the Best Foreign Film category at the 87th Academy Awards.

  

• Her second feature film, Moothon (The Elder One), was directed under the supervision of the Sundance Film Lab.
