• Gaurav started his career as a journalist for Aajtak before joining as a senior producer and a prime-time anchor for Star Zews in the year 2004.

• In 2005, he played a critical role in launching a Bengali news channel, Star Ananda.

• Gaurav started a content strategy for regional entertainment channels in 2008. He expanded the presence of regional channels like Star Jalsha and Star Pravah in states like West Bengal and Maharashtra. Star Jalsha quickly became India’s top Bengali language channel.

• In 2009, he was promoted to be the head of content strategy for Star Plus. Gaurav played a vital role in helping the channel to become a household name with hit shows like Diya Aur Baati Hum and Sasural Genda Phool.

• By the year 2013, Gaurav was the General manager and took Star Plus to soap opera industry dominance.

• As of 2024, Gaurav is leading Disney Star (previously known as Star India). He heads Hindi Entertainment and Disney+ Hotstar’s content as well as oversees Hindi & English movies, Star Bharat, and Kids & Infotainment & Regional (East).
