Some Lesser Known Facts About Fatima Effendi

• Fatima Effendi is a Pakistani TV actress and model. She rose to fame with the Pakistani Geo TV drama ‘Kaash Main Teri Beti Na Hoti’ (2011) in which she played the role of Khushi aka Pagli.

• In an interview, she shared that she was the descendant of Hassanally Effendi who was the founder of Sindh Madrassatul Islam, the first Muslim school in British India. ^[4]Facebook- Image

• She started her career as a child model at the age of 8. During an interview, she shared how she got her first TV ad. She said,
  

  Since my mother was an actress, I have been doing work on and off for what seems like forever so I don’t remember if it was on my mind or not but I hated doing some of the commercials that were too childish for me since I wanted to be a heroine at that time. I used to cry but still did those embarrassing bubblegum ads because my mom wanted me to do them to gain confidence as I was an introvert in school.”

• Fatima has been featured in print advertisements and TV commercials for various brands such as Wahaj M. Khan, Genesis Talent, and Sparkle Salt.

  

• She is known for acting in various Pakistani TV dramas. Some of her Urdu TV dramas are ‘Meri Un Suni Kahani’ (2009), ‘Man-O-Salwa’ (2007), ‘Meri Zaat Zarra-e-Benishan’ (2009), and ‘Kash Mai Teri Beti Na Hoti’ (2011).

  

• While shooting for the Urdu TV drama ‘Larkiyan Mohallay Ki’ (2010), she met Arsalan Kanwar, her co-actor in the serial. Initially, they became friends and soon, fell in love with each other. They dated for around 2 years before their nikaah on 17 November 2022. During an interview, Arsalan shared how he met Fatima for the first time. He said,
  

  We met on the sets of our first drama together. Gradually I realized that we have a lot in common and I really liked her but she was very young at that time and I did not want to hurt her in any way. We were separated and out of touch for a long time after that. I backed out because I was not ready to get married. But when we were apart for a few days I realized that this is the girl I want to spend the rest of my life with.”

• Fatima has acted in many Urdu TV dramas such as ‘Aye Dil Tu Bata’ (2018), ‘Main Agar Chup Hoon’ (2020), ‘Bechari Qudsia’ (2021), and ‘Betiyaan’ (2022).

  

• She has also acted in various Urdu telefilms including ‘Dulha Bhai’ (2008), ‘Raju Chacha Ban Gaey Gentleman’ (2010), ‘Achay Ki Larki’ (2010), ‘Shaadi Ka Ladoo- Mera Teacher Mera Shauhar’ (2011), and ‘Katvi Chatt’ (2015).

  

• She loves to travel with her family during her holidays.

  

• During an interview, she was asked if she preferred Hindi TV serials or Pakistani TV dramas. She replied,
  

  Indian films are mindblowing, but TV dramas are elongated and not reality based. Our shows are based on reality and they are not just about one section of people. Our shows are about poor, middle-class and elite… everyone.”

• In 2022, she started her self-titled vlog channel on YouTube.

  

• In an interview, she shared that she was once offered a role in a Hindi film, but she rejected the offer as the role in the film demanded bold scenes. She said,
  

  Anees Bazmee called me and praised my drama serial and asked me to work in his film. I asked him about the story and the character I’d portray, but refused to sign the movie because it required me to play a bold character. I’ve never faced any restrictions from my family about working in Bollywood movies, but I’ve always known my limits. That’s why I never do anything that may be shameful for me or my family. may be from the entertainment industry, but I’m always careful when selecting my wardrobe.”
