• Emma Corrin is of British and South African descent as her father is British and her mother is from South Africa.

• Emma Corrin studied at a Roman Catholic all-girl boarding school where she developed an interest in acting and singing.

• She took a gap year in her school to pursue a Shakespeare course at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and worked as a volunteer teacher at a school in Knysna, South Africa.
