  • Since a young age, he was a part of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
  • In 1975, he took part in the Total Revolution movement started by Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan.
  • In 1977, he was appointed as the Convenor of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (A.B.V.P.) for District Sagar in Madhya Pradesh and remained in the position for 2 years.
  • In 1979, he became the Divisional Organising Secretary, A.B.V.P. in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh.
  • In 1982, he was appointed as the general secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (B.J.Y.M.) in District Sagar of Madhya Pradesh.
