• Dr. Pragya Sharma is a renowned figure in the world of literature and stage, known for her works in both Hindi and Urdu languages.

• She has performed more than 700 Kavi Sammelan (Poets gathering) and mushairas across India, including Gateway of India Republic Day Mushaira, Dubai Mushaira, Sansad Bhavan Kavi Sammelan, Jashn-e-Rekhta, Pasban-e- Adab, etc.

• Dr. Pragya Sharma’s second book, ‘Maut Ka Zindaginama,’ was published in 2021 by Rekhta Publication and is based on the theme of lockdown. It has been well-received by readers and critics alike.

  

• Dr. Pragya Sharma has been a part of various TV shows centred around poetry and literature, and her works have been broadcasted on popular channels such as SAB TV, Doordarshan, Zee Salaam, DD Sahyadri, Sadhna TV, Dabang TV, ETV, among others.

• Dr. Pragya Sharma’s first edited book, ‘Gopal Das Neeraj Ki Hastlikhi Kavitayen’ was published in 2019 by Prabhat Publication, and was released by eminent personalities such as Dr. Murali Manohar Joshi, Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and Padma Shri Surendra Sharma.

  

• Dr. Pragya Sharma is also known for using the word ‘cigarette’ in her Shayari (poetry), which has led to allegations of promoting smoking. However, she refutes such claims and explains that poetry is an expression of emotions and feelings. Although the word ‘cigarette’ is used extensively in her poetry, as a metaphor, she has not written about cigarettes as a theme. Furthermore, she argues that if readers did not think that Harivansh Rai Bachchan promoted alcohol through his famous work ‘Madhushala’, then there is no basis for absurd accusations regarding her poetry.

  

• She has also performed for various government literary organizations and academies, such as Madhya Pradesh Urdu Academy, Maharashtra Urdu Academy, Delhi Urdu Academy, Hindi Academy, Delhi, and Rajasthan Urdu Academy.

  

• Her poetry has been published in more than 20 poetry collections (anthologies).

• In the early stages of her career, Dr. Pragya Sharma used to recite her poetry in Tarannum, but later on, decided to discontinue this practice. During an interview, she was asked about her decision to discontinue her performances in Tarannum. Dr. Sharma explained that her biggest challenge when she stepped onto the stage was herself, as the stage environment was entirely new to her. She was committed to establishing herself in the place where she envisioned herself in the future, without any room for compromise. While initially, Dr. Sharma received a significant amount of applause and admiration from the audience during her Tarannum recitals, but she wasn’t sure if it was for her presentation, voice, or writing. Instead of focusing on practising notes, she wanted to improve her writing skills. Therefore, she decided to stop reciting compositions in Tarannum.

  

• She has written poems on a variety of subjects that are often left untouched, including poems on men’s empowerment, poems that describe the plight of the red-light area, and poems that explore Vedanta philosophy and spirituality.
