Some Lesser Known Facts About Deepak Chaurasia

• Deepak Chaurasia completed his education in different schools near his village Sendhwa in the Barwani district of Madhya Pradesh.

  

• After completing his graduation, he made up his mind to become a journalist. He was later given a Chevening scholarship for a year to study in the United Kingdom.

• He first started working as a journalist in 1993 with the newspaper Sanjha Lokswami.

• He later served as a news correspondent in various newspapers and covered many important news including the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus from Kashmir Valley in the early 1990s.

• He later co-founded Aaj Tak in 1995, India’s first private channel broadcast on DD Metro.

• Deepak joined DD News as a consulting editor in 2003 at the age of 31 years.

  

• He returned to Aaj Tak in July 2004. Chaurasia later joined STAR News which became ABP News. He later served as editor-in-chief of India News.

  

• In 2016, he formed a company named ‘DC News and Views Private Limited’ with his wife, Anasuya Roy.

• He served as editor-in-chief of News Nation between 2019 and 2021. From January 2023 to March 2024, he worked as a consulting editor at Zee News.

  

• On the occasion of Rama Navami in 2024, on 17 April 2024, he launched his news website ‘Aage Se Right’ which also made YouTube videos.

• He has hosted several popular Hindi debate shows including ‘Tonight with Deepak Chaurasia’ on India News, Deepak Chaurasia Show on Zee News, and Deepak Chaurasia Khoj Khabar’ on News Nation.

• He has conducted interviews with several Indian politicians, celebrities, and sports persons such as Narendra Modi and Akshay Kumar.

  

• In his journalistic career of more than 3 decades, he has done ground reporting of many important events including the 9/11 attacks in 2001 and the Mumbai terror attacks in 2008.

  

• Chaurasia has been accused of hosting news shows while being drunk. Many people have criticised him for such episodes.

• In 2024, he was one of the contestants in the popular Indian reality show ‘Bigg Boss OTT Season 3’ aired on Jio Cinema. He told his fans that he would reveal complete details of many incidents from his journalistic career in the show.
