• After finishing his studies, Dan Rivera worked as an officer in the US Army.

• After retiring from the Army, he joined the New England Society for Psychic Research (NESPR), which was started by Ed and Lorraine Warren in 1952.

• Dan Rivera worked as the senior lead investigator and looked into places that were said to have ghost or spirit activity. He led investigations at homes, old buildings, and historical sites.

• He then worked as a paranormal investigator on the Travel Channel’s show Most Haunted Places.

• Dan Rivera had worked as a producer on several television shows, including 28 Days Haunted, which aired on Netflix in 2022.

• He had travelled across the US with other members of the New England Society for Psychic Research, showing the Annabelle doll to the public.

  

• In July 2025, Dan Rivera went to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, with the Annabelle doll as part of the “Devils on the Run” tour.

• On 13 July 2025, some hours after a sold-out event at the Soldiers’ National Orphanage, he was found dead in his hotel room in Gettysburg.

• After Dan Rivera’s sudden death, some conspiracy theorists blamed the haunted Annabelle doll. However, state police claimed that there was nothing unusual or suspicious at the scene of his death. The police said,
  

  Nothing unusual or suspicious was observed at the scene. His cause of death remains under investigation, with autopsy results expected in 8–10 weeks.”

• The Annabelle doll is a Raggedy Ann figure linked to reported hauntings since 1970.

• It was originally given to a Connecticut nursing student named Donna.

• Ed and Lorraine Warren claimed that the doll could lift its arms, follow people, and show scary and harmful behaviour.

• Their lives inspired The Conjuring films, and they said that the Annabelle doll was demonically possessed.

• They claimed that the doll once stabbed a police officer and caused a priest to crash his car. The doll was later placed in their museum in Connecticut.

• A psychic medium believed that the doll was haunted by the spirit of a 6-year-old girl named Annabelle.

  

•  On 18 July 2025, Adams County coroner, Francis Dutrow, confirmed that the Annabelle doll was not in the hotel room when he arrived on 13 July.

• He stated that the doll had never been in the room at all.

• Dutrow said that Dan Rivera was with his team on the morning of 13 July but told them he felt unwell and returned to his room.

  

• Dan Rivera was an animal lover and had a pet dog. He often shared pictures of his pet on social media.
