  • Chloe Tryon is a South African cricketer. She has appeared for South Africa in all formats of the game. In 2010, she became the first woman cricketer to claim a wicket with the first ball of her career in WT20I history. She was named as the vice-captain of South Africa’s squad ahead of the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia.
  • Growing up in Ifafa Beach, a small resort town on the south coast of KwaZulu-Natal, Chloe Tryon started playing cricket at a very young when her father started coaching her.

  • She claimed two wickets in the first over of her debut T20I match on 5 May 2010, one of them was with her first delivery after which she became the first woman cricketer to take a wicket with the first ball of her career in the history of WT20I.
  • On 5 August 2016, in an ODI match against Ireland Women, she recorded the 6th highest wicket partnership in the history of WODI with Suné Luus with 142 runs.

  • In March 2018, she was one of fourteen players to receive a national contract from Cricket South Africa ahead of the 2018–19 season.
  • She was named to South Africa’s squad for the 2018 ICC Women’s World Twenty20, and she played in her 50th WT20I for South Africa during the group stage of the tournament.
  • She represented Terblanche XI in the 2019 Women’s T20 Super League.
  • She was named to South Africa’s squads for the 2018 ICC Women’s World Twenty20 tournament in the West Indies and the cricket tournament at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England.
  • In 2020, she became the vice-captain of South Africa’s squad for the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia. She was again named as the vice-captain of South Africa’s team ahead of the 2022 Women’s Cricket World Cup in New Zealand.
  • On 13 February 2023, she gave an impeccable performance in a group stage match against New Zealand and became the Player of the match. She scored 40 for 34, helping South Africa bounce back from an opening-day defeat with a 65-run win.

  • She played for Barbados Royals for the inaugural edition of the Women’s Caribbean Premier League in 2022. Her team was defeated by Trinbago Knight Riders by 10 runs in the final of the tournament.
  • In 2023, she played for the franchise team Mumbai Indians which won the inaugural Women’s Premier League (WPL), beating Delhi Capitals by seven wickets.
