• Charlie Javice grew up in Westchester County, New York.

• Both of her parents, after their divorce, co-parented Charlie and her brother in a rich environment.

• Charlie’s father’s father hails from France, so Charlie has dual citizenship of the USA and France.

• In the first year of graduation, she founded an online platform, PoverUp, to help students learn more about starting micro-finance clubs.

• In 2018, Adi Omesy, a co-founder of Frank, sued Javice over wage theft in Israel. In 2021, she was ordered to pay $35,000.

• In September 2021, Frank was acquired by JPMorgan Chase for $175 million.

• In 2022, JPMorgan Chase filed a lawsuit of fraud against Charlie, claiming that Javice provided falsified user-base data to make the customer larger than it actually was. Additionally, she paid $18,000 to a data science professor to convince JPMorgan to purchase Frank.

• On 4 April 2023, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission charged her with fraud. Later, she was released on a $2 million bond, on condition that she surrender her passports and restrict her travel to New York City and southern Florida, and agree not to contact witnesses involved in the case.

• On 18 May 2023, a four-count grand jury in Manhattan federal court charged Javice with securities fraud, wire fraud, bank fraud, and conspiracy.

• In September 2023, Charlie Javice sued JPMorgan in the Delaware Chancery Court. Charlie won the lawsuit, and the judge ordered that JPMorgan would cover Charlie Javice’s legal bills, which eventually exceeded $100 million for both her criminal and civil cases.

• In February 2025, her trial regarding JPMorgan began as she pleaded not guilty. However, on 28 March 2025, she was convicted of defrauding and found guilty on all four charges that JPMorgan made against her.

• After her conviction, Javice pursued a career as a Pilates instructor in South Florida and started taking classes several hours a day. Her lawyers argued that before her sentence, she should not have to wear an ankle monitor because it would make it hard to take her classes with a monitor; however, the judge rejected the argument.

• On 30 September 2025, Javice was sentenced to 85 months (seven years) in Manhattan federal prison. She was also ordered to pay $22 million, which she had earned illegally from the sale of her company, Frank.

  

• In addition, Charlie and her co-defendant, Olivier Amar, were ordered to pay $287.5 million in restitution, which included the full price JPMorgan had paid for Frank, plus $ 100 million legal fee that JPMorgan had been forced to pay for their defense.
