• Bilal Musharraf is a Pakistani educationist and an actuary. He is the elder son of Pakistan’s former President Pervez Musharraf.

• From 1994 to 1997, Bilal Musharraf worked with the Automobile Insurers Bureau as an Actuarial Analyst. In 1997 Bilal Musharraf, in the same company, got promoted to the position of a Senior Actuarial Analyst. He held the position till 2000.

• In 2000, Bilal moved to the Greater Boston Area in the United States of America, where, from 2000 to 2004, he worked as a Benefits Consultant in a company named Willis Towers Watson. As a Benefits Consultant, he looked after the formulation of financial responsibilities associated with the employee benefit plans for Fortune 500 companies.

• In 2004, he moved from the United States of America to the UAE, where Bilal, from 2005 to 2006, worked as an Assistant Manager in a company called Emerging Markets, where his job was to evaluate the emerging private and public investment opportunities for the clients wanting to invest in different economies.

• In 2007, after completing his MBA, Bilal moved to China, where he worked as an intern with the New Hope Group. In the company, he carried out supply-demand-related research for various agricultural and business-based firms.

• In 2007, Bilal once again moved back to the US. There, from 2007 to 2009, he worked as a Vice President in ePlanet Ventures.

• From 2009 to 2010, in San Francisco, Bilal Musharraf worked as the Vice President (Development) in GEMS Education. As a Vice President, he established new chains of schools while following the International Baccalaureate (IB) standard.

• From 2010 to 2014, Bilal worked as a Dean of Translations with Khan Academy, where he developed strategies to assist the organisation in promoting its content to non-English speaking countries.

• Bilal Musharraf, from 2014 to 2016, worked as the Director of Operations in One Market Capital, L.P. There he managed operations pertaining to long/short equity funds in the Frontier Markets.

• From 2016 to 2019, Bilal worked with Edmodo as a Director of Strategic Partnerships. There, he partnered with different types of schools and telecom companies across the globe.

• In 2019, after getting promoted to the post of the Vice President of Global Strategy and Business Development in Edmodo, Bilal Musharraf was sent to Singapore, where he worked as the company’s Vice President for a year.

• In 2020, he left his job at Edmodo and joined Noon Academy in London, UK. At Noon Academy, Bilal was appointed as the Vice President (Partnerships).

• In 2021, he was promoted to Executive Director. As an Executive Director, he was made the head of the Noon Open Borders Learning Enablement (NOBLE) Program.

• Bilal was named by Musharraf after his close friend who was an officer in the Pakistan Army and died during the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War.

• On 18 July 1994, while serving as a Director-General of Military Operations (DGMO), Pervez Musharraf wrote a letter to his son, advising him to always maintain truth and honesty while performing his duties at work.

  

• Every year, Bilal Musharraf is invited to attend the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE).

• Once, Salman Ahmad, the lead guitarist of the Pakistani Rock band Junoon called Pervez Musharraf a dictator. Even though Salman is a very good friend of Bilal Musharraf; Bilal wrote a letter to Salman expressing his anguish over the issue.

• Bilal Musharraf believes that online education will revolutionise the global format of education. In an interview, he said,
  

  We are living in times where thanks to the Internet, and thanks to telecommunication, it is possible to make quality education universally accessible for everyone. For places where people do not have teachers, having open educational resources is better than not having a teacher but the ideal case scenario is a qualified, capable teacher who has access to technology that enables the teacher to provide personalised support. In circumstances where teachers are not available, online education provides an opportunity for self directed learning.”

• Bilal Musharraf is aversive to politics. He does not like to be asked political questions.

• Bilal Musharraf is also known for his clean image, as he does not own any type of business or hold any important position within the Pakistani establishment.

• Bilal Musharraf and his grandmother visited India in 2005. It was his grandmother’s last wish to pay a visit to her ancestral hometown in New Delhi.
