Some Lesser Known Facts About Bhavya Bishnoi

• Bhavya Bishnoi is an Indian politician, who is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. In November 2022, he secured a seat in the Haryana Legislative Assembly and became the youngest legislator in the state.

• During his schooling, Bhavya maintained an excellent academic record, securing 97% in class 10 ICSE board exams and 43 out of 45 points in class 12 IB exams. He was also appointed the school president of the Shri Ram School, Gurugram. While pursuing his bachelor’s degree at the London School of Economics and Political Science, he captained the LSE cricket team. During his masters, he attained First Class Honours and also earned an ‘Oxford Blue’ in cricket while representing the Oxford University Cricket Club.

  

• He comes from a family with a longstanding political background. His father, Kuldeep Bishnoi, has served as an MLA for four terms and twice as an MP. His mother, Renuka Bishnoi, is a two-time MLA. His grandfather, Bhajan Lal Bishnoi (1930-2011), was a politician and three-time chief minister of Haryana.

  

• Bhavya previously got engaged to Tollywood actress Mehreen Pirzada on 12 March 2021, but the couple decided to end their engagement 4 months later.

  

• He is known for being the first parliamentary candidate who formulated a manifesto centred around the specific needs of his constituency.

• In an interview, while talking about why he entered politics and did not pursue a career in cricket, he said,
  

  I’ve always wanted to play for India in international cricket, and I even represented Delhi in under-15 competitions. I wasn’t under any pressure to get involved in politics. I personally made the decision to run for office, and I plan to make Hisar the Haryana state capital.”

• In addition to his involvement in politics and business, he was the Global Education & Leadership Foundation’s (tGELF) Special Projects Lead, where he was instrumental in co-managing and co-leading Global Citizen India.

• In 2018, he laid the foundation of the Bhajan Global Impact Foundation (BGIF), a nonprofit organization dedicated to instigating transformative change through evidence-based policy formation, impactful interventions, and collaborative development efforts.

• Bhavya has served as the president of Janhit, a national student organization.
