• Bala grew up in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

  

• His grandfather owned Arunachala Studios in Saligramam, Chennai, and his father, Jeyakumar, directed over 350 films and documentaries.

• After debuting in Telugu cinema with the film 2 Much in 2002 and in Tamil cinema with the film Anbu in 2003, Bala later earned success in several Malayalam films.

• He gained recognition for his role as Sudhi in the 2009 Malayalam film Puthiya Mukham.

  

• In 2014, Bala returned to Tamil cinema with the film Veeram, which was directed by his brother Siva. The film was a critical and commercial success.
