• Ashok Selvan is an Indian actor and producer who primarily works in Tamil cinema. He has gained fame for his roles in the films “Soodhu Kavvum” (2013), “Pizza II: Villa” (2013), and “Thegidi” (2014).

• During his college years, Ashok Selvan actively engaged in creating and directing short films. One of his works, “Green,” received the Best Film award at the International Tamil Thoth Conference in Singapore in 2012. After completing his college education, Ashok auditioned for Tamil films such as “Inidhu Inidhu” produced by Prakash Raj and “19th Step” directed by Bharat Bala but faced rejection. He then ventured into the film industry as an assistant director under S. J. Surya’s guidance and received a minor role in Suriya‘s film “7aam Arivu” in 2011 where he portrayed Suriya’s friend, although his scenes didn’t make it into the final edit.

• In 2012, a childhood photo of Ashok Selvan was used to depict a younger Ajith Kumar in the film “Billa 2.” Despite an unsuccessful audition for the Tamil film “Pizza” the same year, director Nalan Kumarasamy launched him in a TV commercial and cast him as Kesavan in the black comedy film “Soodhu Kavvum” in 2013 alongside Vijay Sethupathi, Bobby Simha, and Sanchita Shetty. The film was a commercial hit.

  

• In 2013, Ashok Selvan starred in the psychological thriller “Pizza II: Villa,” which was directed by Deepan Chakravarthy. He played the role of Jebin M. Jose, an English novelist, in a story centred around mysterious events in a villa. Reportedly, Ashok underwent a physical transformation, gaining weight and growing a beard in just two weeks to portray the role of a 30-year-old writer. Following its release, the film received acclaim from film critics and achieved success at the box office with Ashok’s performance being praised as “outstanding.”
