Some Lesser Known Facts About Ankith Koyya

• Ankith Koyya belongs to a conservative, middle-class educator family. His parents are government teachers in Visakhapatnam, and his grandfather is a retired headmaster at a government school in Visakhapatnam.

• In an interview, he revealed that he was an average student who was more interested in extracurricular activities than academics. However, his family wanted him to concentrate on his studies and pass the IIT entrance exam.

• Ankith once mentioned that his brother was his greatest support system, and he helped him financially during his early days of struggling in the film industry.

• He was an active participant in street plays, pantomimes, and many other cultural programs in school and college. He trained his fellow actors in plays and events.

  

• In 2015, during a college cultural event, his performance caught the attention of an advertising director. The director messaged him on Facebook and requested an audition video. After reviewing the video, the team liked his work and offered him an advertisement for OLX, featuring the superstar Allu Arjun. Allu Arjun personally selected him for the ad after seeing his audition.

  

• Ankith got his debut short film Yedhane Vadili Vellipomake (2016) with the reference of his friend writer-director Teja Marni.

• In 2016, Ankith enrolled in a short course, “Source of Performance Energy,” at Adishakti Theatre Arts, Pondicherry, which helped him better understand storytelling and performance.

  

• In an interview, he once revealed that he had promised his family that he would give only one year to acting, and if nothing worked, he would continue his regular job as they wished. Within that year, he bagged a role in the film Manjili (2019) and decided to pursue a career in acting.

• Some of his popular films include Thimmarusu (2021), Jilebi (2023), Maruthi Nagar Subramanyam (2024), and Aay (2024).

• In the film Aswathama (2020), he also put his input into screenwriting.

• Ankith Koyya also works as a content executive at Niharika Konidela’s production house, Pink Elephant Pictures.

• Ankith loves to play cricket a lot. Once, in an interview, he mentioned that he worshipped Sachin Tendulkar as his God.
