Some Lesser Known Facts About Aniket Verma

• Aniket’s mother passed away when he was just a few months old. After his mother’s demise, his father married another woman.
• He was raised by his uncle Amit Verma, who took him to his house after his mother’s death.

• It was his uncle who motivated him to play cricket and nurtured him during his formative years.

• At the age of 10, Aniket enrolled at the Railway Youth Academy, where he received formal training in cricket from his coach Nandjit Singh.

• Impressed by his batting skills, his coach recommended him to join Ankur Academy Bhopal, where he continued to develop his skills under coach Jyoti Prakash Tyagi.

• After a while, he joined Faith Academy, where he received advanced training and refined his cricket techniques.

• In 2021, Aniket caught everyone’s attention by scoring 407 runs in a divisional tournament match against Chambal.

• In 2022, he represented the Bhopal Leopard team in the Madhya Pradesh Premier League (MPL) held in Gwalior. He gave an outstanding performance in the League, earning him recognition.

  

• In 2024, Aniket was named in Madhya Pradesh’s Under-23 cricket team for the Bapuna Cup tournament in Nagpur.

• In the same year, he represented Bhopal Leopards in the Madhya Pradesh Premier League (MPL). He scored the first and fastest century in the tournament against Malwa Panthers.

  

• On 3 December 2024, he made his T20 debut for Madhya Pradesh against Hyderabad at Rajkot.

• His strong performances in regional tournaments paved his way to the Indian Premier League in 2025. Sunrisers Hyderabad signed Aniket for Rs. 30 lakhs. He became the first player from Bhopal’s BDCA to reach the IPL.

  

• Aniket is very particular about his fitness and follows a strict workout regimen.
