• Anant Tyagi is an Indian anchor and commentator who has hosted many sports events like Indian Super League (Football), IPL (Cricket), ICC Cricket World Cup (Cricket), ICC Champions Trophy (Cricket), and Rio Olympics.

• He did his initial schooling from Delhi and was later enrolled in The Doon School, Dehradun (Boarding School), as his parents wanted him to do good in both sports and academics.

• He was a Junior Head Boy in his school in Delhi and a Head Boy in The Doon School, Dehradoon.

• During his years in The Doon School, Anant actively took part in sports like Field Hockey, Tennis, and Athletics.

• While in school, he wanted to become a Tennis player.

• In the seventy-five years history of The Doon School, Anant was one of the two students to have won all the 3 Blazer Awards, the ‘Scholar’s Blazer’ for being good in academics and extracurricular activities, the ‘Games Blazer’ for being good in sports, and the ‘Duke’s Blazer,’ the International award for young people. ^[3]LinkedIn

• After completing his Digital Communication course, Tyagi worked as a Business Analyst at Centrica, a gas company in London.

• Once, one of Anant’s friends called him for lunch and asked him to audition for a Hindi commentator at ESPN-Star. On his friend’s advice, Tyagi gave the audition and was selected for a commentary stint for the English Premier League.

  

• The following year, Tyagi joined Star Sports and hosted the Indian Super League in Hindi.

  

• Thereafter, he did a number of non-live sports shows in English, and subsequently, got a chance to present the live feed in English.

• In 2017, he hosted the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Hotstar.

  

• Tyagi has interviewed many popular sports personalities like Nadia Comaneci (Gymnast) and Vishwanathan Anand.

  

• He is fond of cats and dogs, and owns two pet cats.

• His paternal grandfather, Dushyant Kumar, was a famous poet. Anant’s maternal grandfather, Kamleshwar, was an author. Kamleshwar wrote films like Aandhi (1975) and was a Padma Bhushan awardee.
