• Amritha Suresh grew up in a middle-class family of singers.

  

• Since childhood, she was inclined towards singing. When she was 3, she started her training in singing.

• She considers the singers Celine Dion and Michael Jackson her inspirations.

• As a child singer, she performed on stage with the Indian singer Nadirshah.

• She used to be one of the toppers in her school, but she dropped out of class 12 to participate in the reality TV show ‘Idea Star Singer (Season 2).’ After the show ended, she completed her class 12.

• Apart from singing, she used to act in various stage shows.

• In 2006, she released her music album ‘Adhishakthi’ as a music composer and singer. After the release of the music album, Amritha got an offer to act in some Tamil films, but she rejected them as she wanted to make her career as a singer.

• Amritha once met the folk singer Bala Kumar on the sets of the Malayalam film Venalmaram. Later, she met him again on the sets of the reality TV singing show ‘Idea Star Singer.’ They then became best friends and later, fell in love with each other. In 2010, the couple got married. However, after around nine years of their marriage, the couple got divorced.

• After the divorce, she started dating the Indian music director Gopi Sundar, and she shared pictures with him on her social media accounts. Gopi Sundar revealed his relationship with Amritha Suresh through his social media on 26 May 2022. Gopi is married and has two children Madhav and Yadhav from his wife Priya.

• In 2014, she started her music band Amritham Gamay along with her younger sister Abhirami Suresh. The sisters’ band has performed various music forms like Indian, western, folk, classical, and rock in national and international stage shows.

• The cover version of the Israeli folk song “Hava Nagila” sung by Amritha Suresh became very popular among the global Jewish community.

• Amritha and her sister composed several original songs for their band in 2015 including “Katturumbu,” “Ayyayo,” and “Harps of Peace.”

• Once, a Canadian film production company sent her an offer to work in an English film but at that time she was hosting the talk show Suno Melodies on Radio Suno 91.7.

• She has been featured on the cover of various magazines like Lifestyle Magazine FWD Life and Vanitha.

• She lent her voice in the Malayalam film ‘Crossroad’ along with her sister Abhirami. In the film, she composed a song.

• In 2018, she started a hashtag campaign on Instagram by the name #Amazing Me to boost her self-esteem.

• She sang the song “Minni Minni” as a playback singer in the 2019 Malayalam film June. For the song, she was nominated for the Mazhavil Music Award for Best Female Singer.

• In 2019, she sang a song in the children’s film ‘Sullu’ composed by her sister.

• She has started her YouTube channel named Amritham Gamay- Series AG Vlogs. The vlogs are related to food, travel, music, and shopping.

  

• She is a devotee of the spiritual leader Mata Amritanandamayi.

• She has walked the ramp in various fashion shows like Kerala Fashion Runway.

• Amritha participated in the Malayalam reality TV game show Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 2 in 2020 along with her sister Abhirami. The show was hosted by actor Mohanlal.

• In her leisure time, she enjoys travelling and horse riding.
