Some Lesser Known Facts About Ambati Arjun

• Ambati Arjun is an Indian actor, model, and software engineer. He has mainly acted in Telugu films and TV shows. He is known for appearing in films and serials such as Arddhanaari (2016), Agni Sakshi (2017), and Devatha – Anubandhala Alayam (2020). In October 2023, he gained attention when he was chosen for a wild card entry in the reality TV show Bigg Boss Telugu Season 7.

• He hails from a Hindu family belonging to the Telugu community in Andhra Pradesh.

  

• He enrolled in the National Cadet Corps’ Naval Wing while pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering.

• In 2006, Arjun was selected to attend the Republic Day Camp held by the NCC in New Delhi. According to him, he was the only cadet from the NCC’s Naval Wing to be chosen as a member of the NCC group that marched on Rajpath during the Republic Day Parade.

  

• Arjun began working as a software engineer after completing earning a BTech degree. He worked with various IT companies located in Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

• After working for some years as an engineer, Ambati Arjun decided to quit his job and pursue a career in acting. While giving an interview, he talked about it and said,
  

  When they came to know that I was leaving a good job and entering films, they scolded me a lot.”

• According to Arjun, he decided to become an actor because his father worked as a film distributor.

• After leaving his job, he started working as a model. As a model, Arjun has appeared in many commercials for various brands. Apart from appearing in ads, he has also appeared in many fashion magazines.

  

• He made an appearance in the Jogi & Jogan Calendar in 2014.

• He acted along with the renowned actor Prakash Raj in the Telugu film Geethopadesam. The film was released in 2015.

  

• While giving an interview, Arjun revealed that the first film in which he acted was Arddhanaari (2016) in which he portrayed the character of a transgender person. He talked about it further and said,
  

  I made entry with Ardhanaari.. I feel lucky to do a different role in Bhanushankar’s Ardhanaari. I worked very hard for the film. By doing good ground work, he got a good name as an actor. The film also received three Nandi awards.”

  

• He landed a lead role in the serial Agni Sakshi in 2017.

  

• He bagged a role in the 2018 film Moodu Puvvulu Aaru Kayalu.

• He secured the 8th position on the Hyderabad Times’ Most Desirable Man on TV list in 2018, and the following year, he was ranked 11th on the same list.

  

• He appeared as a character named Vivek in the film Ashwamedham, which was released in 2019.

• He portrayed the role of a police inspector in NERD – Neither Either Really Dead, a ZEE5 web series that was released in the same year. While giving an interview, he talked about it and said,
  

  I didn’t prepare for the character, in a way. I liked the character and I knew I could do it. I have been in the industry for 6-7 years. I’ve played all sorts of characters — cop, social activist, female, old man. So because of past experience, this was a little easy for me.”

• He and his wife, Surekha, were chosen to appear as contestants in the Ishmart Jodi, a dance reality TV show, in 2020.

  

• He was seen in Devatha – Anubandhala Alayam in the same year as a character named Aditya. His role was liked by his fans.

• He launched a YouTube channel in 2013 with a different name. He renamed it ACT Originals in October 2020. The channel has more than 160k subscribers as of 2023. He has uploaded many YouTube series on his channel, such as Love Per Square Foot, Second Shaadi, and Achyuthanandana – House Husband.

  

• Arjun essayed the character of a man named Prabhu in the 2021 film Sundari for which he received praise from the film critics. In an interview, Arjun revealed that Kalyan G., who is the director of the film, contacted him through social media to offer the role of Prabhu.

• In 2021, he auditioned for the film Pushpa. He, however, was not selected to act in the film.

• In the same year, he acted in a web series titled Hello Guru Prema Kosame.

• In 2022, Ambati bagged the role of Aditya, a college student, in the film Tees Maar Khan.

• Ambati Arjun appeared in Fear of Missing Out, a YouTube series released in the same year.

• He joined the reality TV show Bigg Boss Telugu Season 7 in October 2023 as a contestant on a wildcard entry.
