• Alakh Pandey (Physics Wallah) is an Indian online educator and motivational speaker. He is known for his unique style of teaching physics techniques.

• When he was a child, his family’s financial, his family’s financial condition was not good. When he was in class 3, his father sold half a portion of his house to meet the financial expenses, and later, his whole house was sold. He then shifted to a rented apartment in a slum area along with his family. When he was in class 6, he started giving tuition and used to travel around 5 kilometres on a cycle every day to earn Rs. 200 for his family. ^[6]The Times of India

• When he was in class 8, he started taking tuition for class 5 students, and when he was in class 11, he taught class 9 students at an academy in his area named Achievers Academy.

• While he was in class 10, he started developing an interest in acting. He used to participate in various nukkad nataks and plays.

  

• When Alakh was in his third year of BTech, he decided to drop out of college as he realised that engineering was not his passion. Also, he was not happy with the teaching style of his college teachers.

  

• He then started working as a tutor at a training institute in Allahabad for mere Rs 5000. He worked there for almost four years. While working there, he realised that the reach of offline classes to the students was less, so in 2016, he started a YouTube channel named Physics Wallah – Alakh Pandey where he uploaded his free physics lecture videos. Initially, his videos did not gain many views. He then went to Kota, Rajasthan, to buy study material, and taught that study material through his YouTube videos. Gradually, his videos started gaining views.

  

• In 2021, he started a self-titled YouTube channel on which he uploads videos of his personal life.

  

• As of December 2022, his YouTube channel Physics Wallah – Alakh Pandey has more than 9.25 million subscribers, and his self-titled YouTube channel has more than 2.3 million subscribers.

  

• Alakh has also started an educational institute in Kota, Rajasthan.

• In 2018, he launched a mobile app Physics Wallah App on which the study materials for class 10, class 11, class 12, and IIT JEE/NEET exam are provided. Within four days of its launch, around 35,000 persons enrolled in the courses available on the app.

  

• In 2022, his start-up Physics Wallah became the 101st Indian company to enter the Unicorn list.

• Apart from providing study material and videos on Physics, he has ventured into other subjects also and uploaded videos like MBA Wallah, GATE Wallah, and Teaching Wallah on his channel.

• On 15 December 2022, a Hindi web series titled ‘Physics Wallah’ was released on the OTT platform Amazon Mini TV. His role in the series was portrayed by the Indian actor Shreedhar Dubey.

  

• In an interview, he shared that once he received a job offer of Rs 75 crore salary, but he rejected the offer as he wanted to provide education to students with less fees instead of making more money. ^[7]The Times of India

• He has been featured on the cover of various magazines like Outlook (Hindi) and Entrepreneur’s Startups.

  

• He has been invited as a motivational speaker at various events like TEDx Talks.

• In June 2024, he highlighted the irregularities in the NEET-UG exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and questioned the testing agency on its silence over the paper leak issue. 1,500 candidates had reportedly been awarded grace marks by the testing agency which resulted in 67 candidates securing the top rank (720 marks), including six from the same exam centre in Haryana.
