• Akash Madhwal is an Indian cricketer who is known for being a part of the Cricket Association of Uttarakhand and making his IPL debut in 2023 as a part of the Mumbai Indians team.

• He was born in Dungra Village but they settled in Roorkee because his father worked there for 30 years as an army officer. Akash’s father died in 2010 at the age of 57.

• When he was young, he used to play with his brother with the plastic bat and ball their father bought them.

• In an interview, his mother said that he was good at studies as well as cricket.

• He used to play cricket as a part of the Dhandera XI cricket team.

  

• He plays domestic and first-class cricket for Uttarakhand and made his domestic debut in 2019.

• He made his T20 match debut on 8 November 2019 against Karnataka at Visakhapatnam in the 2019–20 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

• He made his FC match on 25 December 2019 against Odisha at Cuttack in the 2019–20 Ranji Trophy.

• He made his List A match debut on 21 February 2021 against Meghalaya at Chennai in the 2020–21 Vijay Hazare Trophy.

• As of 2023, he had played 10 first-class matches in which he bagged 12 wickets, 17 list-A matches in which he picked up 18 wickets and 22 T20 matches in which he grabbed 24 wickets.

• In 2022, his Uttrakhand team won the Ranji Trophy against Rajasthan.

  

• In 2022, he played for Reliance 1 cricket team in the 17th DY Patil T20 Cup and won the tournament.

  

• He was also part of the Veer Shourya Cricket Academy, Roorkee where he was honoured after getting selected for the IPL season 2022.

  

• In 2022, he was bought by Mumbai Indians as a replacement player for Suryakumar Yadav who suffered an injury in his forearm. He was bought by the team for Rs. 20 Lakhs but did not get a chance to make his debut in the 2022 season of the tournament.

• He made his IPL debut in 2023 after Riley Meredith was unable to play due to an injury. On 4 May 2023, in an IPL match between Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings, he gave 12 runs in the 18th and 9 runs in the 20th over.

• He was very happy after his selection in the playing 11 and made the first call to his mother who told him that this was not the end of the journey and he had to play more tournaments.

• Before making his debut in IPL, he was a practice bowler for MI. In an interview, he said that he was performing well as a practice bowler because of which he got selected for the playing squad. While he was a practice player, he received a lot of guidance from Rohit Sharma and Zaheer Khan.
