• Abishek Porel started playing cricket with his friends and brothers at a young age.

• At the age of five, he joined the National Sporting Club in Chandernagore where he trained under Pradip Mondal.

  

• He later joined Utpal Chatterjee’s coaching centre at Deshbandhu Park, where he was trained alongside his cousin Ishan Porel.

• On 17 February 2022, he made his Ranji (first-class) debut for Bengal against Baroda and helped Bengal chase a target of 350 runs by scoring his first fifty with 53 runs in the second innings.

  

• He scored 20 runs off 14 deliveries at a strike rate of 142.85 during his T20 debut on 14 October 2022 for Bengal against Odisha in the 2022 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT).

• Porel made his List A debut on 17 November 2022 for Bengal against Puducherry in the 2022 Vijay Hazare Trophy.

• On 31 March 2023, he was acquired by Delhi Capitals (DC) for Rs 20 lakh ($25 thousand) as a replacement player for Rishabh Pant for the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

  

• On his debut IPL match for Delhi Capitals (DC) against Gujarat Titans (GT) on 4 April 2023 in the 2023 IPL season, he scored 20 runs in 11 balls at a strike rate of 181.81 and also took the catch of Hardik Pandya.

  

• During the Delhi Capitals (DC) match against Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 2023 IPL season, he dived and took the catch of Rohit Sharma after which the fans started calling him ‘the Spiderman of Chandannagar.’

  

• In Delhi Capitals’ opening match of the 2024 IPL season against Punjab Kings (PBKS), he came in as an impact player and scored 32 runs in 10 balls at a strike rate of 320.
