• Abhijith is an Indian actor, playback singer, film director, and film producer who works in Kannada films.

• He was born and raised in a middle-class family in a small village in Karnataka.

• Abhijith was interested in acting from his school days, where he actively participated in school events. He also did theatre to learn acting skills.

• In 1980 he moved to Bangalore, Karnataka from his village to get work in films and TV.

• In an interview, Abhijith mentioned that he struggled a lot to get a chance in films. He would go to film directors directly to get opportunities in acting.

• Abhijith started his film career as a film representative of films.

• In late 1980, Abhijith got some chances to work in films like Samsarada Guttu (1986), Krishna Mechchida Radha (1987), Jana Nayaka (1988), Ondaagi Baalu (1989), and Bannada Gejje (1990), but all the roles were very short.

• In 1990, he played a villain role in the film College Hero (1990). This film gave him recognition and appreciation and made him a successful villain in the Kannada film industry.

• Ranjith (1993) was his first film in a lead role.

• In an interview he once mentioned even after doing successful lead roles in films, he chose villain roles in some of his films such as Muddina Maava (1993), One Man Army (1998), and Vairi (2014).

• Abhijith was the host of a reality singing show “Aksharamale” from 1999-2015.

• Abhijith was a very good friend of Kannada superstar Vishnuvardhan, he did many films with him such as Yajamana (2000), Kotigobba (2001), and Raja Narasimha (2003).

• In an interview, Abhijith once mentioned, that he admired Dr Rajkumar (a veteran Kannada actor and singer) and his acting style in action films. Abhijith acting style was also compared with him.

• In 2005, Abhijith opened his own Production house named Shree Balaji Creations. He produced many popular films like Samarasimha Nayka (2005), Jodi No. 1 (2009), Vishnu (2012), and Panta (2017) under his banner.

• Besides acting and film producer, Abhijith also made his debut as a film director. Jodi No. 1 (2009) was his first directional film. The film was a big flop at the box office.

• In 2010, Abhijith’s second directional film faced legal issues due to its Title. Originally, the film was titled “Vishnuvardhan,” after the late superstar name Vishnuvardhan. However, the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) intervened and requested a title change following a petition filed by Vishnuvardhan’s family, as they did not want his name used for the film. Later the title changed to Vishu.

• Abhijith has also performed as a playback singer under his banner films such as Samarsimha Nayaka (2005), and Amareshwara Mahatme (2013).

• Abhijith has acted in more than 150 films in the Kannada film industry.

• Abhijith is trained in various forms of dancing.

• In 2022, Abhijith and his wife participated in a reality TV show Jodi No. 1 Season 1 (2022); aired on Zee5 Kannada. They were the winners of the show.

  

• Abhijith is a religious person. In an interview, he once mentioned before every film or project he used to visit Tirupati Balaji Temple, Andhra Pradesh with his entire family.
