Abha Parmar was an active participant in her school and college extracurriculars, especially in plays and skits.

She grew an interest in acting, so to learn acting, she joined theatre (1980).

In 1985, she came to Mumbai and started working in films. She has worked in many films since then in different languages like Hindi, Bhojpuri and Rajashthani.

Abha Parmar appeared in a small role of a laborer in Amitabh Bachchan‘s film ‘Main Azaad Hoon’ (1989 ). It was her very first appearance in any movie.

She gained popularity with her role as ‘Bua Ji’ in ‘Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Du’ (2011).
