Some Lesser Known Facts About Indira Devi

• Indira Devi was an Indian woman who was known for being the wife of the late veteran Telugu actor and the mother of the famous Telugu actor Mahesh Babu. On 28 September 2022, she passed away at AIG Hospital in Hyderabad after suffering from a prolonged illness. Soon after her death, her son, Mahesh babu announced her death news on one of his social media accounts along with her picture. He wrote,
  

  Smt. Ghattamaneni Indira Devi, wife of veteran actor Krishna and mother of Mahesh Babu passed away a short while ago. She had been suffering from illness for quite some time now.”

  

• On 28 June 2019, after the death of Krishna’s second wife and veteran Telugu actress, A G Vijaya Nirmala, Krishna decided to live with Vijaya Nirmala’s son, senior actor Naresh. Vijaya Nirmala directed 44 Telugu films during her career.

  

• According to Mahesh Babu, his mother never scolded him during his childhood. He remembered in a media interview that his mother was very polite and compassionate.

  

• At the beginning of 2022, Mahesh Babu talked about his bond with his mother in a media conversation. He stated that he always paid a visit to his mother’s house before the release of his every film and had a coffee as ‘prasada.’ He said,

• Indira Devi’s elder daughter, Padmavathi, is a homemaker, and Padmavathi is married to a well-known industrialist Galla Jaydev. Jaidev also works as a member of Parliament on the ticket of the Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh. Her second daughter, Manjula works as an actress, producer, and director in the Telugu film industry. Her youngest daughter, Priyadarshini is married to Telugu actor Sudheer Babu. Indira Devi’s second son Ramesh Babu was a Telugu actor and producer who founded a production house named Krishna Productions Pvt. Ltd. in 2004 and became a producer. He was the producer of the super hit Telugu films Arjun and Athidhi, which he made with his brother Mahesh Babu. Ramesh Babu passed away on 10 January 2022.
