  • Mansoor Ali Khan is an Indian actor, music composer, writer and producer, who mainly works in the Tamil cinema, alongside Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada film industries. He is one of the most famous villains in Tamil cinema and is best known for playing the antagonist Veerabhadran in the Tamil action film Captain Prabhakaran (1991).
  • Khan received training in acting at Actors Workshop, an acting school run by Anil Chowdhury. At the institute, he received training from well-known actors like Anupam Kher.
  • To pursue a career in acting, he moved to Chennai, where he struggled for nine years before making his Tamil debut with Velai Kidaichuduchu (1990).
  • He has an uncredited role in the Malayalam romantic drama film Shubhayathra (1990).
  • In 1991, he gained recognition for his role as a sandalwood smuggler named Veerabhadran in the Tamil action film Captain Prabhakaran.

    He is known for his unique way of campaigning for votes. Ahead of the 2021 assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, he sat near a garbage bin and petted a street dog as a part of his campaign. When people walked by, he talked to them about what issues they had in the area. He wrote down the problems and where they lived in his notebook and said he would try to fix these problems if he got elected as the MLA from the locality. Similarly in 2019, when was a candidate of Naam Tamilar Katchi from the Dindigul Lok Sabha constituency, he caught media attention for pulling off public stunts like polishing footwear, making tea in a teashop, cooking parathas at an eatery, making lemon juice at a stall etc.

  • He also works in Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada film industries. After making his Telugu debut in 1993, he appeared in various Telugu films like Mutha Mestri (1993), Samba (2004), and Naayudamma (2006).  He also worked in numerous Kannada films like Yuva Shakthi (1997), Lady Commissioner (1997), Diggajaru (2001), and Masti (2007). He has acted in over 250 films in various languages out of which 10 were Silver Jubilee hits and 20 ran for 100 days.
  • In 2018, he submitted a PIL requesting the Tamil Nadu State Election Commission to allow him to examine the Electronic Voting Machines to show that there might be manipulation happening during the voting process with these machines. However, the Madras High Court rejected his request.
