  • Michael Fabricant was born to a Jewish family. His father was a rabbi of the Brighton and Hove Synagogue.
  • After completing his postgraduate studies, he started doing research in economics and econometrics at the University of Oxford, University of London, and the University of Southern California.
  • He later started working as a businessman and was the director and co-founder of an international broadcast manufacturing and management group for 11 years before becoming an MP in 1992.
  • On 2 July 1992, he made his first speech in the House of Commons.
  • He was later selected as MP from Lichfield in many terms and also served in many important positions in the UK government.
