Some Lesser Known Facts About Aqil Akhtar

• Aqil Akhtar was a practicing advocate in the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

• Aqil’s addiction began at an early age; he was reportedly using drugs when he was in class 10 and had been expelled from several schools in Chandigarh.

• Aqil Akhtar’s family, at one point, rented a separate residence for his wife and children due to ongoing domestic issues linked to his substance addiction. The report also noted that one of his children reportedly experienced depression as a result of the family situation.

• Aqil Akhtar allegedly set fire to his own house during one of his episodes. The same report also mentioned that he frequently demanded money for drugs from his mother and wife, leading the family to file and later withdraw, multiple police complaints against him.

• Aqil was found dead on 16 October 2025 in Panchkula, Haryana. The cause of death is suspected to be a drug overdose

• Before his death, a video surfaced in which Aqil accused his father of having an illicit relationship with his wife and alleged a family conspiracy against him. Later, another video emerged in which he retracted those allegations, saying he had been mentally unwell when he made them.
