• On 26 April 2024, his father filed a missing complaint of Gurucharan at one of the Delhi Police Stations. His father said that on 22 April 2024, Gurucharan left for Delhi Airport to reach Mumbai but even after four days, he did not reach there. His father also said that he was not eating properly before he went missing.

• During the investigation, it was found that he was facing a financial crisis, and his marriage was also fixed. He had withdrawn Rs 7000 from an ATM in Delhi. After that, his phone got switched off near the Palam area. The Delhi Police has filed a kidnapping case.

• Investigations revealed that he had several loans and dues. It was also found that he was a follower of a sect that practices meditation, and Singh once wanted to go to the Himalayas to do meditation.

• Singh returned home on 17 May 2024 and revealed that he was on a religious journey and often stayed at various gurudwaras in Amritsar and Ludhiana but later felt that he should return home.

• In July 2024, he shared the experience of his missing days during an interview and revealed he wore the same pair of trousers for 17 days. He also said that he slept on railway platforms and bus stops during those days.
