Some Lesser Known Facts About Sija Rose

• Sija Rose is an Indian actress known for her work in Malayalam films. She is a promoter at a youth-led international non-profit organisation, Letters of Love, which sends handwritten cards to children and adult refugees who are facing a tough time. In 2018, she participated in the dancing reality show “Dance Kerala Dance.”

• Sija Rose aspired to become a journalist since she was a child and did her graduation in Journalism. However, she later decided to build her career in acting after she got the chance to work in TV commercials. In an interview, she talked about this and said,
  

  After completing a course in journalism from Mumbai, I was in Kerala on a holiday. As luck would have it, I got an opportunity to model for an ad, which ultimately paved my entry into films.” ^[1]The Times of India

• She made her acting debut in Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam films in the same year.

• In the Tamil film “Masani” (2013) and “Madhavanum Malarvizhiyum” (2014), Sija played the role of a Bharatanatyam dancer.

  

• Her three Malayalam films “Nee Ko Njaa Cha,” “Annayum Rasoolum,” and “Entry” were released on the same date i.e., 4 January 2013.

• In 2015, she played the role of Moideen’s fiancee, Ameena Bichal, in the period drama film “Ennu Ninte Moideen” based on the love story of Moideen and Kanchanamala, a couple from northern Kerala.

• She also worked as an assistant director in her Hindi debut film “Traffic” (2016). Later, in an interview, she said that directing a film includes more physical which makes it more difficult than acting in a film. She further revealed the reason to join filmmaking and said,
  

  I took this opportunity to learn what happens behind the camera and the nitty-gritty of filmmaking.” ^[2]The Times of India

• In 2018, Sija Rose appeared as a celebrity mentor in the dance reality show “Dance Kerala Dance” which aired on Zee Keralam.

• In 2022, she played the role of Teena, the wife of Suraj Venjaramoodu‘s character in the Malayalam film “Roy” and received a great acclamation for her performance in the film.

  

• Some of her other popular films include “Nellikka” (2015), “Milli” (2015), “Kavi Uddheshichathu..?” (2016), and “Udanpirappe” (2021).

• Sija Rose considers the Malayalam film industry to be male dominating. In an interview, while talking about this, she said,
  

  I feel Tamil and other film industries down south always welcome Malayali actresses. So we get good exposure in Kollywood and Tollywood when compared to the Malayalam film industry, which is still male dominant. The audience there are willing to accept you. Unfortunately, it takes a while for an actress to get acceptance in Kerala.” ^[3]The Times of India

• She has an Instagram page titled “Brew Stains,” where she shares her coffee art (paintings made by using coffee).

  

• She often promotes the jewellery brands ‘Tanishq’ and ‘Elista,’ and the fashion brand ‘Swayamvara’ on her social media account.
