• Raihan Vadra hails from New Delhi, India.

• He is a visual artist and photographer who works mainly focused on wildlife, street, and commercial photography.

• He is best known for his immersive art installations and photography that invite viewers to reflect deeply on concepts such as control, freedom, choice, and unity.

• Although he comes from a renowned political family, he chose to stay away from politics and pursue a photography career.

  

• Raihan’s journey as a photographer began at an early age. In an interview, he mentioned that when he was seven, his mother, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, gave him a camera for the first time during family trips. Later, frequent jungle safaris with family developed his interest in photography, especially in wildlife photography.

• He completed his schooling at The Doon School in Dehradun, the same prestigious boarding institution attended by his grandfather, Rajiv Gandhi, and his uncle, Rahul Gandhi.

• As a student at boarding school, Raihan used to capture school events and school trips.

• Raihan Vadra also used point-and-shoot cameras and camcorders to document animals during trips to Jim Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand and Ranthambore National Park in Rajasthan.

• In 2017, during the final year of school, Raihan Vadra was injured while playing cricket and lost vision in his left eye. Due to the injury, he had to step away from photography for nearly two years due to strain on his right eye.

• In 2019, Raihan moved to London and studied politics at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at the University of London.

• After one year, Vadra returned to photography and initially started taking up assignments to support himself while studying.

• In 2021, Vadra’s first solo exhibition, Dark Perception (2021), was held in Delhi, where he showcased the idea of control through a powerful and conceptual experience.

  

• In the same year, he took part in a major art event, The India Story in Kolkata.

  

• In 2022, Raihan came with his second solo exhibition, Anumana (2022), which focused on themes of choice and freedom.

  

• In 2023, he co-founded the independent art collective, You Cannot Miss This, which showcased multimedia exhibitions by independent artists based in Delhi and Mumbai.

• In 2024, Raihan presented his third solo exhibition, titled Upamana, at Bikaner House in New Delhi. This exhibition explored the concept of comparison through a variety of multimedia, including installations, sound, light, and visual art. It focused on themes such as control, choice, memory, compulsion, and emotion.

• In December 2025, Raihan Vadra got engaged to his longtime girlfriend Aviva Baig. The couple has been in a relationship for nearly seven years. Their engagement took place with the approval of both families, who are believed to share a close bond.
